In week 10 “Dis 1 Bus 499 Strategic entrepreneurship”, the single most valuable lesson for Amazon is one that combines aspects of strategic management and entrepreneurship. Strategic entrepreneurship entails a combination of activities that lead to new opportunities as the company focuses on competitive advantage. For an industry to enjoy continued economic growth, it should have a clear strategic vision in its entrepreneurial undertakings (Hitt, Ireland, & Hoskisson, 2012). Companies are encouraged to use creative strategies that will give them a competitive advantage in the market.

As a world’s leading internet retailer, Amazon derives its motivation from its mission of focusing on the customer. The company offers various products based on customers’ needs and has greatly improved on its delivery method to suit the client`s needs. During this period of an increase in internet investment and usage, the company faced a serious threat of competition from emerging internet businesses (Kelleher, 2014). This will give it an opportunity to identify emerging companies and identify their strengths and weakness. Based on the information relating to the operations of emerging competitors, Amazon can make creative strategies that will lead to its continued growth and industry leadership.    

Google, the world’s leading search engine, can make an excellent strategic partner for Amazon Company. With Google’s superior internet presence and its investment on delivering adverts on mobile phones, it is in a position to deliver adverts effectively and to a bigger population globally. Consequently, Amazon can develop strategies for offering products as per the consumers` needs while Google facilitates the advertisement of the products and enhances research on customers’ needs (Bary, 2017). This partnership may help Amazon cut the cost of market research and advertisement. Besides, Amazon will also improve its consulting services. Through Google, Amazon’s clients will have a better opportunity to air their views and find answers to their question about the products being offered.
