Collaboration is the phenomenon in which two or more parties come together to work on something with the aim of achieving something (Gibert, Tozer, & Westoby, 2017). The collaborative effort is mainly aimed at achieving something bigger than what could have been achieved individually. People who have common goals work together to make the accomplishment of a task easy. In other cases, parties may collaborate with an intention of complementing one another. One person may have a skill that the other party does not have. Through collaboration, the parties combine the skills and knowledge to achieve a common objective. The collaborating parties may or may have not worked together previously. The main aspect that brings the parties to work together is their desire to work jointly to achieve a common goal.

            Most classwork require collaborative efforts for the students to be able to achieve their main objectives. In the course, I will utilize collaboration through working jointly with my team members on the group projects that we will be assigned in the classroom. Collaboration helps to make work easier, and it also promotes increased understanding of course content (Barkley, Cross, & Major, 2014). The cooperative work will involve working on assignments jointly and organization group discussions that would be aimed at furthering an understanding of the course content. The joint discussions assist in memorization of the course content by synthesis and conceptualization. Collaborations also allow for a wide area of the course content to be covered within a short duration. Groups can be assigned different topics of discussion and then they present them during the course lessons. Collaborative efforts are also necessary between the students and the instructors. It allows the course content to flow smoothly.
