As discussed in your Week Four readings, there are four factors that impact the persuasiveness of a message: the communicator (who says it), the message (what is said), the channel (how it is said), and the audience (to whom it is said). Using this knowledge, select an advertisement and evaluate its message for persuasiveness.
Cults are one good example of extreme group membership. They are a little more difficult to study, for obvious reasons. But there has been research done. Having a leader that is charismatic is one key to how they are persuasive. The concept in our text where by an individual is more likely to complete a bigger favor if they have already completed a small favor also applies here. What do you think of some ways to resist persuasion?
Based on the theories presented in our text, what contributes to the creation of conflict? Please present one and consider examples for that theory.
