Question 2

KFC uses a number of human resource management techniques to attract, engage and retain the young workers. KFC has managed to attract a pool of Millennials workers because it gives them the best career growth opportunities by teaching them life skills and working skills that they will use at KFC or elsewhere. The managers, assistant managers or supervisors also hold coaching and mentoring programs to help Millennials understand where they want to be, how to get there, and the opportunities and challenges involved (Cascio, 2018). Cross-training is also encouraged, with the manager being the team leader. KFC cultivates a family-like environment in which every worker freely engages with each other, which make them view the workmates as their second families.

To measure the success of its efforts to have a productive and engaged workforce, KFC uses the people metrics, notably the employees’ turnover. In an industry characterized by 100% turnover, KFC has the least turnover at approximately 50% (Cascio, 2018).

Question 3

The organization has culture of fun, flexibility and family-like environment. KFC integrates the Millennials into its culture by having every employee go through the field induction process to familiarize with the restaurant environment. To enhance the culture of openness, the trained managers offer social support and training to meet the needs of Millennials. Millennials are allowed to be themselves and encouraged to dance, smile and sing with an intention to create a culture of honest, oneness and happiness (Cascio, 2018).
