Plato’s allegory

C. High School Assignment: Imagine that you are a high school teacher and you have to assign one of the following texts to your class: Plato’s allegory, Bacon’s Four Idols, or Freud’s “Oedipus Complex”. Write an essay explaining which one you would choose and why. What can students learn from this essay? How would it be good for society if more people studied it? For the sake of this assignment, assume they are high school seniors. Requirements: • Accurately summarize and explain the texts that go with your option. • Your essay must have an overall point or thesis which should appear early in the paper. • You must quote from the relevant essay in the book at least at least twice. • You must cite two additional outside sources, and these sources must come from the databases, Google Scholar, or a book. (Only one of your sources can be from a book.) • Sources must be integrated (see Quote Burgers). • Sources must be cited correctly according to MLA documentation. This includes your works cited page.
