Respond to this post:
1. I am going to share some information about the Children’s Bureau.
2. The children’s bureau headquarters is located in:
1910 Magnolia Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90007-1220
The website is:
https://www.all4kids.org/
3. Telephone: 213.342.0100
Fax: 213.342.0200
4. This agency offers prevention and treatment programs for adults and children. The Children’s Bureau offers child abuse prevention programs for families to learn about how to nurture your child, strengthen relationships and building a safe and caring community for all children. They also provide mental health therapy and other services of the like to children and families who have gone through abuse or are at risk of abuse. Apart from this, Children’s Bureau also offers adoption and foster care services to ensure that children are placed in caring, responsible homes with guardians that understand the needs of that child.
5. This agency is helpful to parents because it can help educate them about the needs of a child, in regards to their health, safety, nutrition, and emotional/mental health. It can help parents improve their communication with their child, understand them better and develop patience, growing awareness of child abuse and helping to prevent it. Sadly, some children have experienced abuse in their life, but this agency offers the community emotional and mental health services that could help children (also adults) to overcome that abuse. Teachers can learn about this resource and share it with other teachers (maybe during a child abuse training) or even outside of the school environment. Teachers further understand how to interact with children, always keeping in mind that each child is different and to always be patient because you may never know if there is something happening in their home life that can threaten their health and safety.
