Poverty

Write a research paper (6-8 pages not including cover page and reference page) on poverty addressing the following questions:

• What is poverty?

• What is the poverty rate in the United States?

• Where does the United States rank among the industrialized countries in the world in terms of poverty?

• What are the some of the major theoretical perspectives (explanation) on the causes of poverty? Some of these theories are disccused in your text.

• What theory, in your view, best explain the causes of poverty in the United States, and which theory best expplain the causes of poverty in the world in general?

• What policies, recommendations or suggestions would you make to reduce or end poverty? Think creatively

For your research at least three of your sources must come from Peer-review Refereed Journal. These are professional academic journals. These journals can only be accessed through the university library’s website.
